1. Destination / direction

A I am going to Australia at the end of June.

B we are going to a restaurant

c I usually take the bus to work.

2. Time/ Time between two points

It’s a quarter to 1.

It’s 5 minutes to 8.

Time between two points

The supermarket is open from 9 to 11 pm.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday.

3. Comparing two things / preference

I prefer sleeping to working.

I prefer chocolate ice cream to vanilla ice cream.

Do you prefer tea to coffee?

4. Limit/endpoint

She drove to the park.

You have 30 minutes to complete the test.

The store is open from  9 am to 7 pm.

1. Duration/period of time
