Describe a bicycle /motorcycle/ car trip you would like to go on

    • Who you would like to go with?
    • Where you would like to go
    • When you would like to go
    • And explain why would you like to go by bicycle/motorcycle/car

    Vocab/ Idioms

    1. Cup of tea – personal liking
    2. Unfortunately – sadly
    3. Hit the road – start journey
    4. Breathtaking view – very beautiful
    5. Monotonous – boring routine
    6. Breath of fresh air – refreshing change

Well, to begin with, travelling is my cup of tea, and I never miss a chance to explore new places. Although my family usually prefers trains for long journeys, I would love to talk about a car trip that I am really looking forward to in the near future.

To start with, I would like to go with my close friends, especially one of them who recently got a brand-new car on his nineteenth birthday. Unfortunately, he is not allowed to drive it until his college exams are over. So, once everything is sorted out, we are planning to hit the road together and go on a trip to Leh-Ladakh, which is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and snow-capped mountains.

As far as the timing is concerned, we have not fixed an exact date yet. However, most probably we will go after our exams when we are free and stress-free. That would be the perfect time to relax and enjoy nature to the fullest.

I would prefer to travel by car because it is a long journey, and a car offers both comfort and flexibility. We would be able to chat, listen to music, and take breaks whenever we like. Moreover, it would protect us from bad weather and allow us to travel at our own pace, which makes the journey as enjoyable as the destination itself.

To sum up, I firmly believe that if a person stays in one place for too long, life becomes dull and monotonous. Travelling acts like a breath of fresh air and adds colour to life. That is why this car trip would not only be adventurous but also truly refreshing for me.

    Follow-ups

    1. Which form of vehicle is most common in your country?
Well, in India, motorcycles are the most common for daily city travel, especially for individuals, because they are affordable and can easily move through traffic. For example, office-goers often use bikes, while families usually prefer cars for comfort on long journeys.

    2. Do you think air pollution comes mostly from mobile vehicles?
To a large extent, yes, vehicles do contribute a lot to air pollution. However, in reality, factories and power plants release even more harmful gases. For instance, industrial areas often have poor air quality due to smoke from chimneys.

    3. Do you think people need to change the way of transportation to protect the environment?
Without a doubt, people should switch to eco-friendly transport. For example, using public transport, carpooling, or electric vehicles can significantly reduce pollution and help protect the environment.

    4. How are transportation systems in rural and urban areas different?
Generally speaking, cities have well-developed transport systems like metros, buses, and cabs. In contrast, in rural areas, people mostly depend on personal vehicles because public transport is limited and places are far apart.
