    • Who he/she is
    • What genre his/her music belongs to
    • When/where you listen to his/her music/songs
    • And explain why you like him/her music

    Vocab/Idioms

    1. On cloud nine → very happy
    2. Leaps and bounds → rapid growth
    3. Food for soul → deep comfort
    4. Stress buster → tension reliever
    5. Convenient → easy / handy
    6. Showcase → display / present

Well, to begin with, I would say that music is a great stress buster. Even though people have hectic schedules, they still love listening to songs while working, traveling, or relaxing. As for me, I would like to talk about my favourite singer, Diljit Dosanjh, whose music always makes me feel on cloud nine.

First of all, talking about who he is, Diljit Dosanjh is a world-famous Punjabi singer and actor. He has a massive fan following not only in India but also abroad, especially among the Punjabi community. His popularity has truly grown by leaps and bounds in recent years.

Moving on to the type of music he sings, his songs mainly belong to Punjabi pop, bhangra, and romantic genres. In fact, his music has the perfect mix of traditional Punjabi beats with a modern touch, which makes it stand out.

If I talk about when I listen to his songs, I would say I often listen to him while traveling, during parties with friends, or even when I feel tired after studying. Moreover, his songs give me energy during workouts and keep me in a positive mood.

The key reason why I like his music is because of his unique and soulful voice. On top of that, his lyrics are meaningful yet simple, which makes them easy to connect with. Another thing that really attracts me is that he proudly promotes the turban at the international level. As I belong to the Sikh community, this truly makes me proud. Last but not least, his songs are full of catchy beats that can make anyone tap their feet. As the saying goes, his music is food for the soul.

Overall, I can say that Diljit Dosanjh is my favourite singer. His songs always lift my spirits, add joy to my daily life, and make every moment more lively.

    Follow-ups

1.Can anyone learn how to sing?
Well, in my view, anyone can learn to sing if they have interest and practice regularly. Of course, natural talent helps, but with training and dedication, people can improve a lot. For example, many people on reality shows started as beginners and became great singers later.

    2. What should the government do to help people with musical talent?

I believe the government should support talented people by giving them scholarships, training centers, and platforms to perform. This way, they can showcase their skills. For instance, music academies run by the government can help hidden talent get recognized.

    3. What kind of music do people like at different ages?

It really depends on age and taste. For example, young people often enjoy pop and hip-hop because they are trendy, while older people may prefer classical or devotional songs as they find them soothing. So, music choices keep changing with age.

    4. What kind of music is popular in India now and what will be in the future?
At present, Punjabi pop and Bollywood songs are very popular because they have catchy beats. In the future, I think fusion music, which mixes Indian and Western styles, will become more common. For example, many DJs already remix folk songs with modern beats.

    5. Do Indian parents require their children to learn to play musical instruments?
Well, some parents do encourage their children to learn instruments like guitar, tabla, or piano. They believe it helps with discipline and creativity. For instance, my cousin’s parents enrolled him in guitar classes to develop his interest and confidence.

    6. Why do some people like to listen to live music while others prefer CDs?
On the one hand, some people enjoy live music because it gives them real energy and atmosphere. On the other hand, others prefer CDs or online music as it is more convenient and cheaper. For example, youngsters often go to concerts, while busy people listen on their phones.
