    Vocab/Idioms

    1. Travel-freak person → Travel lover
    2. Monotonous routine → Boring schedule
    3. Delightful → Very pleasant
    4. Goosebumps → Hair-raising
    5. Once in a blue moon → Very rare
    6. Icing on the cake → Extra benefit

Well, to be honest, I am a travel-freak person, so I always love to explore new places whenever I get the chance. Speaking of a long journey, last year I went to Amritsar with my whole family, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable trips of my life.

To begin with, the main reason behind this journey was that I wanted to take a break from my monotonous routine. On top of that, my parents also wished to spend some quality time together. So, we planned a family trip during the holiday season.

As far as the experience is concerned, the journey itself was delightful. We travelled by train, and the atmosphere was full of laughter, snacks, and chit-chat. Once we reached Amritsar, we visited the Golden Temple, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Wagah Border. Honestly, standing at the temple early in the morning gave me goosebumps. It was like a once-in-a-blue-moon moment where I felt completely peaceful.

The reason I would love to take this journey again is quite simple. First, the bond I shared with my family on that trip was priceless. Second, Amritsar is a great place that offers a perfect mix of history and inner peace. Lastly, travelling with loved ones makes the journey sweeter, or as the saying goes, it was the icing on the cake.

All in all, that trip was a blend of relaxation, fun, and learning. That’s why I would love to repeat the same journey whenever I get the opportunity.

    Follow-ups

    1. Do you think it is a good choice to travel by plane?
Well, no doubt air travel is quite costly, but it is definitely a great choice because it saves a lot of time. Moreover, it offers comfort and convenience, especially for long distances.
    2. What are the differences between group travelling and travelling alone?
Actually, there are some clear differences. In group travelling, people can share expenses, enjoy company, and feel safer, whereas travelling alone gives more freedom and independence to explore at one’s own pace.
    3. What do we need to prepare for a long journey?
To be honest, proper preparation is the key. People need to pack essential items like clothes, medicines, and documents. In addition, planning the route and booking tickets in advance helps avoid last-minute stress.
    4. Why do some people like making long journeys?
I believe the main reason is that long journeys give people a break from routine life. Apart from that, they can explore new cultures, meet different people, and create unforgettable memories.
    5. Why do some people prefer to travel in their own country?
I think one strong reason is that domestic travel is cheaper and more convenient. Besides, people already know the language and culture, which makes the whole trip more comfortable.
    6. Why do some people prefer to travel abroad?
Well, there are a number of benefits. Travelling abroad allows people to broaden their horizons, experience different lifestyles, and sometimes even get better shopping or career opportunities.
