Vocab / Idioms
Well, to begin with, I strongly believe that good habits are like the backbone of a successful life, as they reflect our personality and manners. Here I would like to talk about a wonderful habit of my close friend, which is none other than his punctuality. His name is Rahul, and we have been friends since our school days.
Speaking of his habit, he is always on time, whether it is attending classes, joining a party, or completing assignments. Honestly, he never misses a deadline, and this quality makes him stand out from others.
As far as I remember, I first noticed this habit during our exam preparation. While I usually delayed my work, he always managed his time wisely. Because of this, he completed his revision in advance and looked as cool as a cucumber, whereas I was stressed at the last moment.
The key reason why I want to develop this habit is that punctuality not only saves valuable time but also adds discipline to life. In fact, it makes a person more reliable and trustworthy. As people say, time and tide wait for none, so if I become punctual like him, I believe I can hit the nail on the spot and achieve my goals more easily.
All in all , this good habit of my friend inspires me a lot, and I truly wish to plant the seeds of punctuality in my own life as well.
Follow-ups
1. What habits should children have?
In my view, children should develop good habits such as being punctual, polite, and disciplined. These habits not only help them in school, but also prepare them for life. For example, reading regularly or helping parents at home can make children responsible and confident.
2. What should parents do to teach their children good habits?
Well, parents should first set a good example because children often copy adults. In addition, rewards can encourage positive behaviour, while explaining the benefits of good habits helps children understand their importance. For instance, if parents read daily, children may develop a reading habit too.
3.What influences do children with bad habits have on other children?
Honestly, children with bad habits can affect their peers in a negative way. For example, if a child often lies or behaves rudely, classmates may start copying that behaviour. This can disturb discipline in school and even create conflicts among friends. That’s why parents and teachers should guide children early.
The main reason is that interests and priorities often shift as people grow. Moreover, environment and friends play an important role, and personal goals and responsibilities also shape habits. For example, a child who played video games may develop a habit of exercising as an adult.
