Some people think that climate change could have a negative effect on business.  Other people think that climate change could create more business opportunities. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

It is argued among individuals whether alterations in climate have detrimental impact on business or offers numerous job opportunities. I believe that former notion is more logical and will explain both aspects in the forthcoming paragraphs in more specific way.

With the view to discuss why some people reckon or think that climate/weather change can create business opportunities. They argue that a rise in heat waves can benefit certain industries. For instance, it can boost sales for companies in the air conditioning and beverage sectors. During scorching weather, people often seek relief through the purchase of air conditioners and cold beverages. Consequently, companies in these industries may experience increased demand, leading to higher profits. To cite an example, in this modern era, majority of people want air conditioner at their workplace or home in order to avoid heat which is boon for firms /companies.

Despite the aforementioned view, there are range of reasons why climate variation is disadvantageous for many business. The primary concern is the impact of irregular rainfall patterns. Insufficient or excessive rainfall can have severe repercussions on farming, resulting in financial hardships for individual farmers. It also effects the nation where the demand is high for food and supply becomes low owing to atmosphere fluctuation. Extreme weather conditions affects the crops and the economy of the country because some countries export crops to other nations. For instance, recently in the northern part of India, there was huge rain which destroyed the wheat crop. Consequently, both the population and the nation as a whole suffered substantial economic losses due to reduced crop production.

In my opinion, the first inclination is more reasonable. Adverse weather conditions, such as floods and snowstorms, can create hazardous working environments for employees, leading to reduced workforce attendance. Furthermore, when employees do attempt to travel to their workplaces in inclement weather, the risk of accidents increases. Consequently, businesses may experience workforce shortages, which can impact their operations.

To conclude, it is quite evident that although the variations in the global climate can be fruitful for some businessmen, its negative effects can never be neglected.
