Well, being an extrovert person, I never hesitate to share my views in front of people. I strongly believe that having good speaking skills not only boosts our confidence but also helps us spread awareness.

If I talk about whom I gave the talk to, then it was mainly my classmates and teachers during my college days. Frankly speaking, the talk was about a healthy lifestyle. My college organised a small event where students were given the chance to showcase their talents. Same goes for me, as I decided to give a talk. At first, I was a bit confused about the topic, but my mother, who is a fitness enthusiast, encouraged me to speak on this subject.

The key reason why I delivered this talk was because many students were falling into the trap of unhealthy habits like junk food and late-night routines. I wanted to plant the seeds of good health in their minds.

When it comes to my feelings, I still remember that I was the fourth speaker on stage. At the beginning, I was slightly nervous, but as the audience clapped and encouraged me, I felt on top of the world. I spoke about simple things like balanced diet, regular exercise, proper sleep, and even meditation. I also highlighted that mental health is just as important as physical fitness.

In the end, my 15-minute speech became half an hour because the audience asked so many questions. Their active interest gave me a real sense of achievement, and I felt fit as a fiddle.

All in all, it was a memorable and rewarding experience that not only improved my confidence but also motivated me to take part in such events in the future.

According to me, both are equally important, but it really varies from situation to situation. If someone only talks but never listens, then communication cannot be effective. Honestly, there are a number of qualities a person should have. First and foremost, they should be clear and confident. Most prominently, confidence is the key when it comes to public speaking. Besides that, good body language and eye contact are also essential. As people often say, first impression is the last impression. For example, a speaker who smiles and maintains eye contact immediately grabs the audience’s attention.

No doubt, it’s quite crucial to be a good listener. If we don’t pay attention, misunderstandings can easily happen. For example, in workplaces, employees who listen carefully to instructions often do the job better than those who just pretend to listen.
