Well, to get the ball rolling, I’d like to say that I’m always open to trying new things because I believe life begins at the end of our comfort zone. One person who truly inspired me to do something new and exciting is none other than my mother.

I’ve always admired her for her multitasking abilities and her calm, patient nature.

Since I live with her, I see every day how she takes care of our home with love and dedication. She is the main support of our family and handles many responsibilities with ease.

The interesting activity I got involved in was cooking—something I had never taken seriously before. During the Covid-19 lockdown, when everything was closed, including restaurants and food outlets, we had to stay at home. It was a tough time, no doubt, but also a blessing in disguise for us to bond as a family. During those days, my mother began preparing mouth-watering dishes at home, and I was amazed by her culinary skills.

My mother’s passion and creativity in the kitchen truly inspired me. She encouraged me to try cooking, explaining that it is an essential life skill that helps a person become more independent. Initially, I lacked confidence and thought it would be too difficult. I often made mistakes with measurements or got confused about ingredients and timing. However, my mother guided me patiently at every step. She explained everything in a simple way and made the learning process both fun and easy.

There were moments when I felt like giving up, but her kind words and constant support kept me motivated. Her belief in me gave me the strength to keep going. Now, I can prepare a variety of dishes on my own and even enjoy experimenting with new recipes.

In conclusion, my mother did much more than simply teach me how to cook—she helped me uncover a hidden talent. A simple activity eventually turned into a valuable and transformative experience, thanks to her guidance and support.
