Describe a person who became your friend but you don’t like some things about him/her

    • who the person is
    • how you became friends
    • what you don’t like about him/her
    • and explain how you deal with it

Well, I’d like to talk about a person who gradually became my friend, even though there are a few things about him that I don’t really like. His name is Aman, and I met him about three years ago when we joined the same coaching centre.

To explain how we became friends, we were in the same batch and often sat next to each other in class. During breaks, we started discussing our studies as well as our daily life, and over time, our friendship developed naturally. He is generally kind, supportive, and always ready to help, so it was easy for us to become friends.

However, as every coin has two sides, there are certain habits of his that bother me. For instance, he talks excessively and rarely listens patiently to others or he talks a lot and doesn’t listen carefully to others. Moreover, he often checks his phone while someone is speaking, which I feel is slightly disrespectful. Frankly speaking, this behaviour can be irritating, especially during serious conversations.

When it comes to dealing with these issues, I try to ignore these habits so our friendship stays strong. Instead of making a mountain out of a molehill, I focus on his positive qualities. If it really affects me, I politely express my feelings or gently remind him to be more attentive. Over time, I realised that understanding and patience are crucial in friendships.

All in all, although I don’t like a few things about him, he is still a trustworthy friend, and I believe that accepting small flaws is part and parcel of any strong friendship.
