    2. Multinational company – a business that operates in multiple countries.
    3. Passionate about – very interested or enthusiastic about something.
    4. Tech-related – connected to technology.
    5. Coincidentally – happening by chance at the same time.
    6. Occasion – a special event or celebration.
    7. Thrilled – extremely happy or excited.
    8. Thoughtfulness – the quality of being considerate or kind.
    9. Appreciated – valued or recognized for something.
    10. Meaningful – full of meaning or significance.
    11. Celebration – a joyful event to mark a special occasion.
    12. Gathering – a meeting or get-together of people.
    13. Dreaming of – strongly desiring something.

    Idioms

    1. My joy knew no bounds – I was extremely happy.
    2. Over the moon – very happy and excited.
    3. The cherry on top – an extra bonus or detail that makes something even better (you could add this).
    4. Made me feel on cloud nine – made me feel extremely happy (alternative idiom you could use).

Well, gifts are a lovely way to show care and appreciation, and receiving something you truly desire can be an unforgettable experience. I’d like to talk about a gift I received that meant a lot to me — the latest iPhone — which was given to me by my cousin who lives in Canada.

My cousin works for a multinational company and knows how passionate I am about technology, especially mobile phones and gadgets. He’s quite thoughtful and often brings something tech-related whenever he visits. I had been wanting the latest iPhone for a long time, but since it was quite expensive, I couldn’t afford it on my own.

I received this gift on my birthday last year. My parents had arranged a small party at home to celebrate, and coincidentally, my cousin was visiting from Canada at the same time. It was a perfect occasion for a family gathering. After I cut the cake, my cousin handed me a wrapped box and asked me to open it. I was shocked and thrilled when I saw it was the brand-new iPhone. My joy knew no bounds, and I hugged him out of happiness.

I felt completely over the moon. It was not just about the phone itself but the thoughtfulness and love behind the gift. It made me feel truly special and appreciated. This gift was exactly what I had been dreaming of, and receiving it from someone close made it even more meaningful.

    Follow-ups

    1. Should employees have their own goals?
Well, I believe that employees should definitely set personal goals. Having clear goals helps them stay motivated and work more efficiently. For example, someone aiming for a promotion will likely improve their skills and performance, which benefits both the employee and the company.
    2. How should bosses reward employees?
In my opinion, bosses should reward employees in both financial and non-financial ways. Bonuses, praise, or extra holidays can all boost morale and make employees feel valued. For instance, even a simple thank-you note or a public compliment can go a long way in encouraging better performance.
    3. What kind of gifts do young people like to receive as rewards?
Generally speaking, young people love gifts that are trendy or useful. Things like gadgets, gift cards, or fun experiences are quite popular among them. For example, getting a smartwatch or concert tickets can make them feel truly appreciated and excited.
    4. How should children spend their allowance money?
I think children should learn to manage their money wisely from a young age. They can save part of their allowance and use the rest for small treats or school supplies. For example, buying a book or saving up for a toy teaches them financial responsibility and decision-making skills.
    5. Why do people like shopping more now than in the past?
To be honest, shopping has become more convenient and entertaining compared to the past. Online stores and attractive discounts make it easier than ever for people to buy what they need or want. For instance, people can now shop from home with just a few clicks, which saves time and effort.
    6. Do you think shopping is good for a country’s economy?
Yes, absolutely. Shopping boosts the economy by increasing demand for goods and services, which leads to job creation and business growth. For example, when people spend more, more workers are needed in stores, warehouses, and delivery services, which helps support the overall economy.
