  •    Prevention is better than cure → Avoid problems

Well, honestly speaking, there are already many laws in India, but I feel that some of them are not followed properly. One new law that I would really like to introduce is a Healthy Food Law. Under this law, junk food such as burgers, pizzas, cold drinks, and highly processed snacks would be restricted, especially around schools and colleges, while healthy food items like fruits, fresh juices, salads, and homemade meals would be promoted.

Actually, I came up with this idea after noticing that nowadays people, especially youngsters and children, are becoming addicted to fast food. Because of unhealthy eating habits, diseases like obesity, diabetes, and heart problems are increasing day by day. As we all know, “Health is wealth,” but unfortunately many people ignore this until they face serious health issues.

If this law were introduced properly, it would bring many positive changes in society. First of all, people would become more health-conscious and start choosing nutritious food instead of oily and processed meals. Secondly, the number of lifestyle diseases would decrease significantly. Apart from that, students would feel more energetic and productive in their studies because healthy food improves both physical and mental health. I also think it would reduce medical expenses for many families in the long run.

Without a doubt, I believe this law would become quite popular, especially among parents, teachers, doctors, and fitness lovers. Of course, at the beginning, some people and food companies might oppose it because fast food has become a part of modern lifestyle. However, slowly but surely, people would understand its benefits.

I feel really positive and excited about this law because it could improve the overall health of the nation. In my opinion, prevention is better than cure, so instead of spending huge amounts on treatment, people should focus on healthy living from the start. If this law is implemented effectively, it could truly create a fitter and healthier India.

Follow-ups

1. What rules should students follow at school?

I think students should follow some basic but important rules at school. First of all, they should be punctual and attend classes regularly. Moreover, they should wear proper uniforms and maintain discipline. Students should also respect their teachers and classmates because good manners create a positive environment. Apart from that, they should avoid bullying and follow school regulations sincerely.

2. What rules do people in your country usually obey?

In my country, people usually follow rules related to education, workplaces, and public behaviour. For example, most people respect school and office timings. However, when it comes to traffic rules, some people break them, such as crossing red lights or not wearing helmets. So, I would say people follow rules, but not all the time.

3. What kinds of behaviour are considered good behaviour?

Good behaviour includes being polite, honest, and respectful towards others. People who help others, speak kindly, and listen patiently are usually considered well-behaved. In addition, respecting elders and following social rules are also signs of good character. I believe kindness and discipline leave a positive impression on everyone.

4. Do you think children can learn about the law outside school?

Yes, definitely. Children can learn about laws and rules outside school in many ways. For instance, they can learn from their parents, elders, and real-life experiences. Nowadays, social media, television, and the internet also spread awareness about laws and social responsibilities. So, learning does not only happen in classrooms.

5. What are the benefits for people who obey rules?

There are many benefits for people who obey rules. First of all, rules help maintain peace and discipline in society. People who follow rules are usually considered responsible and trustworthy individuals. Moreover, they avoid unnecessary problems and become better citizens. In the long run, rules make society safer and more organized.

6. How can parents teach children to obey rules?

Parents can teach children to obey rules by setting a good example themselves. Children usually learn by observing their parents’ behaviour. Moreover, parents should guide them patiently and explain why rules are important in life. They can also teach discipline through daily routines and positive encouragement rather than strict punishment.
