    Describe a natural place

    • Where this place is
    • How do you knew it
    • What it is like
    • Why you like to visit it

    Vocab / Idioms

    • Renowned – well-known
    • Intensive knowledge – deep understanding
    • Rely – depend on
    • Lap of nature – natural surroundings
    • Killing two birds with one stone – two benefits
    • Miss the boat – lose chance

To begin with, India is renowned for its rich natural diversity. There are a plethora of beautiful lakes, parks, mountains, and historical places, and I am extremely fond of natural destinations. Today, I would like to talk about a natural place which is a famous park, namely the Rock Garden in Chandigarh.

To the best of my knowledge, I first came to know about this park during my school days through my textbooks and later through television and the internet. As time went by, I also visited it with my family, which helped me learn more about its beauty and importance.

Honestly speaking, I do not have very intensive knowledge about its history, but I know that it was created by Nek Chand using waste materials. The park is beautifully designed with waterfalls, sculptures and green surroundings. Many people rely on this place for relaxation and recreation. Tourists visit it to refresh their minds, and local people come here for morning walks and exercise.

Last but not least, when I visited this park with my family, I truly felt I was in the lap of nature. It was a calm and refreshing experience. In fact, it was like killing two birds with one stone because I enjoyed quality time with my family and also relaxed in a natural environment.

To sum up, that is why I love visiting this park. If I ever get another opportunity, I will definitely go there again and will not miss the boat.

    Follow-ups

    1. What kind of people like to visit natural places?
To begin with, people who love peace and beauty usually enjoy visiting natural places. In addition, adventure lovers and fitness-conscious people also prefer such places because they can relax, exercise, and feel close to nature at the same time.

    2. What are the differences between a natural place and a city?
On the one hand, natural places are calm, open, and full of greenery and fresh air. On the other hand, cities are crowded, noisy, and full of buildings, traffic, and modern facilities. Therefore, natural places give mental peace, whereas cities offer convenience and job opportunities.

    3. Do you think that going to the park is the only way to get close to nature?
No, not at all. Going to a park is just one option. For example, people can also visit forests, hills, rivers, or even grow plants at home. So, nature can be enjoyed in many ways.

    4. What can people gain from going to natural places?
First of all, people feel relaxed and stress-free. Moreover, they can improve their physical health by walking, jogging, or doing yoga. Finally, they get mental peace and learn to respect the environment.

    5. Are there any wild animals in the city?
Yes, some wild animals can also be seen in cities. Because forests are shrinking, animals like monkeys, birds, and sometimes deer come to urban areas in search of food and water. However, city life is dangerous for them due to traffic, pollution, and lack of open space.

    6. Do you think it is a good idea to let animals stay in local parks for people to see?
In my opinion, it can be a good idea if animals are kept safe and comfortable. At the same time, their natural life should not be disturbed. So, proper care and protection are very important.
