Although I have visited numerous places in my life, the city that left a lasting impression on me was Amritsar. Amritsar holds a special place in my heart because of its peaceful atmosphere and beauty. I visited this wonderful city a few months ago with my family, and we stayed there for around two days. To be honest, it turned out to be one of the most unforgettable and refreshing trips I have ever had.
To begin with, the main reason we went there was to visit Golden Temple, which is one of the most famous and sacred places in India. As soon as we entered the temple, I felt extremely calm and relaxed because the atmosphere there was so peaceful and spiritual. We offered prayers, listened to the soothing Gurbani, and spent some quality time near the Sarovar. On top of that, we also had langar or community meal there, and I was really impressed by the excellent management and the selfless service of the volunteers.
Apart from that, we explored the local markets and did some shopping as well. I bought traditional Punjabi juttis, beautiful suits, and a few souvenirs for my relatives. To make the trip even more enjoyable, we tried some famous street food like Amritsari kulcha and lassi, and to be honest, it was absolutely mouth-watering.
What I enjoyed the most about this visit was the quality time I spent with my family. Nowadays, everyone leads a hectic life, so this trip gave us a golden opportunity to relax and create beautiful memories together. Besides this, visiting such a holy and peaceful place helped me recharge my batteries and get away from daily stress.
All in all, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, and I would definitely love to visit Amritsar again in the near future.
Follow-ups
1. What are the disadvantages of living in a very famous city?
Well, I think there are several disadvantages to living in a famous city. First of all, these cities are usually overcrowded, which often results in heavy traffic congestion and noise pollution. Moreover, the cost of living is extremely high, making it difficult for many people to manage their daily expenses. Due to rapid urbanisation and the large number of buildings, people also do not get enough fresh air or peaceful surroundings.
2. Do you prefer to visit well-developed cities or cities with a long history?
To be honest, I would love to visit both kinds of cities. However, I am more interested in well-developed cities because they usually offer better infrastructure, modern facilities, and a luxurious lifestyle. At the same time, if I get a chance, I would definitely like to explore historical cities as well to learn about their culture and fascinating past.
3. For those who live in cities, is it because they want to or because they have to?
In my opinion, both reasons are equally common. Some people willingly move to cities because they want a better lifestyle, more opportunities, and modern amenities. On the other hand, many people have no other option and shift to urban areas for jobs, higher education, or financial stability. So, it mainly depends on a person’s circumstances and priorities.
