Exploring rural areas is one of my favourite activities. Being a city dweller, it is quite an uphill task for me to find a peaceful place to unwind. But luckily, I have my maternal home in the countryside, just a couple of hours’ drive from my city. My whole family and I prefer to go there during vacations.
I remember this trip took place last summer. During my vacation, we all went there to have fun with my maternal family and to strengthen our bond. It was a farm area in the village where my maternal house is situated. We spent about 10 to 15 days there and engaged in numerous activities.
Every day, we visited my uncle’s farm, which is truly a hidden gem with its tranquil atmosphere. It offered a stark contrast to my urban routine. Moreover, we connected with cultural activities there, as we all know that people in villages are deeply rooted in their traditions.
Additionally, I learned from my uncle how to grow organic vegetables without using chemical sprays. It was an experience that left an indelible mark on me because it provided an unparalleled sense of calm and natural beauty. Every evening, we enjoyed the sunset, something that is arduous to witness in the city center due to tall buildings and pollution.
I felt on cloud nine as it was a much-needed break from my hectic schedule and offered insights into a simpler way of life. The farm boasted lush greenery and pristine beauty. Interestingly, there were plenty of picturesque views, such as verdant fields, where we captured many memorable moments.
This cherished memory brought us closer as a family, helping us disconnect from the overwhelming pace of urban life and reconnect with nature. I realized how vital such experiences are for our mental well-being.
All in all, I believe it is imperative to visit such places occasionally to take a break from our day-to-day lives and recharge.

    Follow-ups

    1. What are the differences between the city and the countryside?
Cities are crowded and modern, with better facilities like schools, hospitals, and entertainment. In contrast, the countryside is peaceful, with natural beauty and fresh air, but fewer resources.

    2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in the countryside?
The countryside offers a quiet, healthy lifestyle and close community ties. However, it lacks advanced healthcare, education, and job opportunities compared to cities.

    3. What kind of people would like to stay in the countryside?
People who value peace, nature, and a slower lifestyle, like retirees or artists, often prefer the countryside. It’s also suitable for farmers and families seeking a healthy environment.

    4. Do people go to the countryside to travel or to live?
Many people visit the countryside for relaxation or holidays. Some move there permanently for a peaceful life, especially after retirement or to escape city stress.

5.Do most people prefer to live in big cities or the countryside?
Most people choose cities for jobs, education, and modern amenities. However, some prefer the countryside for its calm and clean environment.

    6. Do people in your country like to go hiking?
Yes, hiking is quite popular, especially among youngsters who enjoy adventure and fitness. Scenic rural landscapes make it a great activity for weekends.
